#10 Budget Babes

Budget Babes is for the everyday college student who wants to be fashionable but may not have the budget for it. In the video, high end runway looks were duped for less. Just goes to show if your inspired by a look you can always adjust it to your price point and style.

I had tons of fun filming this with my group we were able to appreciate the style of runway while still being able to laugh at the shock factor some of the extreme ones gave.

At times print ads and commercials aren't enough when it comes to appealing to the public. Some times the public wants more and when the consumer wants more the companies comply. In 2014, Snuggle came up with a way to interact with their customers. On valentines day Snuggle had a person dress as the snuggle bear and interact with the customers it created a loving environment that allowed customers to interact with the company on a personal level.
Bonus: The company gave away mini bears!!

Trunk shows is when people try to sell their merchandise to a store or to the everyday consumer.

There are many different types of trunk shows one of them being The NYC wedding dress trunk show. Throughout the month of April designer loft will be having various types of trunk shows.

Matthew Christopher, Eddy K Milano, Pronovias, and Rosa Clara will be the designers featured in the store. Each designer has their own sense of style but lace seems to be the same within all four of them.

During the trunk shows any wedding dress purchased will be ten percent off. The gowns being shown are from Spain and Italy as if another reason was needed in order to attend

#6 Victoria Secret Fashion Show in Paris

Victoria Secret fashion shows are known for their fashion models (the angels) and the famous Victoria Secret bra but what is never taken into consideration is the show itself.

Not even a full two minutes into the show the first model comes strutting down the runway wearing lingerie which is to be expected, but what isn't expected is the Chinese dragon wrapped around her. Victoria Secret are known for their models to be wearing angel wings and each one will wear a variety of angel wings as they become a Victoria Secret angel. The models don't just strut the lingerie that will be sold in stores they strut cover-ups and they add sequins, floral, etc that will never see a day in the market. Why add the extras if it's never going to be sold? The cover-ups and the extra detailing add to the glamour of the whole event.

The show has constant changing backgrounds. At first it starts out with the  Chinese dragon to match the first model and later it switches to look almost astrological. As the show continues the scenery keeps changing.

The fashion show had three different performers. Lady gaga started the crowd off with her song a million reasons. The weekend and Bruno Mars also performed. They sounded amazing and their music had the crowd pumped. Then lady Gaga returned to wow the crowd not only with her vocals but by sprouting dark angel wings after she had finished singing. It was jaw dropping.
Finally, as any good runway show should end, the models walked down the runway one last time together with confetti raining down on them.

#5 Store Windows

At the Staten Island Mall not all the store windows were eye catching. Some were lack luster and lacked the creativity to attract me into the store but that was only a small few. The majority of the store windows were vibrant and it was as it they beckoned for customers to come in to enter.

BeBe:

The store Bebe utilized the entire store window to its fullest potential which in turn showcased their merchandise. The clothing worn by the mannequins captivated the audience by showing a feminism mixed with rebellion.

White House Black Market:

White House Black Market had a more sophisticated look. Before entering the store it was easy to tell that that their clothes were for the young working woman who didn't want to look overly severe.

Charlotte Russe:

Charlotte Russe windows attracted my attention because of its youth. The store, as opposed to Bebe and White House Black Market, is made for young women under the age of twenty-five. The mannequins in the store window showcase their target market by having the clothes be timeless yet fashionable.

Express:

Express didn't utilize their store windows as much as the stores previously mentioned but the clothing advertised in Express showed unity. The unity was shown through the shoes, the way all three mannequins had their hands on their hips, and with how all of their tops were black with almost the same kind of silhouette.

 Kara:

Kara's store window caught my attention because of how sassy the mannequins were. The mannequins were each trying to force the customers to look at them. The clothing worn by the mannequins matched their sassy behavior quite well giving the whole window a harmonious vibe.

#3 Fashion Styles in NY

Disclaimer: Heads were cropped out for privacy reasons

While walking through the streets in Brooklyn I noticed different styles. New York is one of the most diverse places not only with the people but with how they dress.

Coral choker styled sweater, black jeans, and heels. (St. John's Dorm)

Green shirt, choker, black jeans, and heels. (St. John's Dorm)

Purple coat, cardigan, black jeggings, and heels. (Midwood)

Black coat, grey scarf, jeans, a "Deny Everything" cap, and boots with a low heel. (Broadway Junction train station)

Black jacket, red scarf, jeans, and Timberlands. (Times Square)

Blue jacket, scarf, jeans, and Timberlands. (Times Square)

In the photos jeans are being worn and boots with heels are being worn. Boots with heels is the constant item worn in each photo. Each person shown in the photos showcased similarities in fashion but differences in style.
